The PPEEQQ brand is a new player in the market, offering top-quality cycling glasses with photochromic lenses, ensuring you're prepared for any weather condition you may encounter as a cyclist, gravel rider, or mountain biker, all year round! And all this at a fair price.
The Collection
Several glasses are available, categorized into two different shapes: Model I and Model II. Model I has a more outward, angular lens compared to Model II, which has rounder shapes. Model II also has an additional piece of frame at the bottom of the lens. Both models have adjustable nose pieces for an ideal fit on any nose shape. Model I also features adjustable temples, which Model II does not require.
The glasses come with various types and colors of lenses that also determine the price of the glasses. Most glasses have a photochromic (color-changing) lens, while some more affordable options have standard sunglass lenses.
Technologies
A significant portion of the collection falls within the P R O category. These glasses are equipped with three high-quality technologies:
- P stands for Photochromic: the lens changes color under UV radiation. This ensures you always have pleasant vision with changing sunlight. When the sun is bright, the glasses are darker than when you are cycling in cloudy conditions.
- R stands for Revo: this multi-layer coating on the lens enhances the colors and contrast of your surroundings. You can therefore distinguish obstacles or potholes in the road more quickly. Additionally, it reduces annoying glare.
- O stands for Oleophobic & Hydrophobic: this treatment improves the durability of the lens and ensures it stays clean longer and doesn't fog up. Even in the rain, raindrops don't stand a chance.
The photochromic lens comes in beautiful blue, red, green, or smoke colors. Colored photochromic lenses are quite rare, so that's quite unique! Additionally, extra lenses are available for each glass. Often, these are clear or orange lenses. These are ideal for cycling in very cloudy weather, in the dark, or on an indoor cycling track.
Sustainable
PPEEQQ products are developed in a sustainable manner. For instance, the frames are not made from fossil raw materials but from castor oil derived from crops. The castor crop is naturally drought-resistant and requires very little irrigation or fertilization.
The glasses are designed in Apeldoorn, and production is carried out sustainably in Portugal. Therefore, the products do not need to be shipped worldwide but are made close to home. The lenses and frames are designed to last a long time. The frame and lens are made of an almost unbreakable material. This is also safer in case of an unexpected fall while wearing the glasses.
